Program Details

This programme is focused on providing educational practitioners with the knowledge and skills required to create inclusive learning environments guided by the national and international laws and policies in education for differently-abled students at primary level. This programme will also provide the participants with practical skills in designing instructional plans, assessment and evaluation for students who are differently-abled along with the basic competencies of a primary teacher.

General Entry Criteria

2 passes in A Level/HSC (At GCE A/L, a pass is considered E and above. HSSC pass is considered C and above.)

OR

Attainment of a Level 4 qualification in a related field

OR

Attainment of a Level 4 Foundation Study Program approved for the specific Diploma program.

Alternative Entry Criteria

20 years old, completion of a Level 4 qualification (unrelated), and successful completion of an MQA approved University Preparation Program

OR

20 years old, completion of secondary school, 2 years of relevant work experience, and successful completion of an MQA approved University Preparation Program

  • Teaching and Learning Strategies

  • ICT Skills for Teaching and Learning

  • Process and Pedagogy for Reading and Text Construction

Award Advanced Diploma in Primary Teaching and Inclusive Education

Year 3

  • Early Intervention and Behaviour Management

  • Curriculum Adaptations: Sensory and Physical Disabilities

  • Curriculum Adaptations: Additional Learning Needs

  • Curriculum Adaptations: Developmental Disabilities

  • Mathematics Education II

  • Co-teaching and Collaboration: Building Partnerships for Inclusive Education

Award Bachelor of Teaching in Primary and Inclusive Education

Course fee: MVR 3,450 per month (MVR 2,008 per month under the government free first degree scheme)
