Program Details

Diploma in Nursing program aims to develop knowledgeable practitioners in general nursing who are equipped with practical skills to work in various settings in Maldivian health sector. The program enables candidates to work with clients and professional partners in effectively delivering health-care services according to the code of ethics. The program aligns with the National Competency Standards for Professional Nurses and Midwives to ensure safe practice and quality patient-centered care. Upon successful completion of the program, the candidates will meet the licensing requirements of the Maldives Nursing and Midwifery Council as a Registered Nurse.

3 GCE O’ Level pass (minimum C grade) or equivalent in the following subjects:
Mathematics, Biology /Human Biology, Physics / Chemistry

AND

Pass in 2 subjects of Higher Secondary Education

AND

Certified competency in English

OR

Completion of MNQF level 4 Foundation Course (Approved by the MNMC) that includes Mathematics, Mathematics, Biology /Human Biology, Physics / Chemistry

AND

Certified competency in English

OR

Pass in Shahadha Saanavi Mathematics, Biology / Human Biology, Physics/Chemistry

AND

Certified competency in English

OR

Successful completion of Certificate 4 in Nursing

AND

Certified competency in English Note: “Certified competency in English” is defined as minimum “C” grade in GCE O’ level English

OR

Equivalent (approved by MNMC or MQA )

Year 2

  • Professional Communication Skills for Nurses

  • Anatomy and Physiology 2

  • Fundamentals of Nursing 2: Theory

  • Microbiology for Nurses

  • Pharmacology 2

  • Medical Surgical Nurses 2: Theory

  • Reproductive Health Nursing: Theory

  • Pediatric Nursing: Theory

  • Medical Surgical Nurses 2: Practice

Year 3

  • Medical Surgical Nurses 3: Theory

  • Introduction to Nursing Research and Evidence based Practice: Theory

  • Mental Health and Psychiatry Nursing: Theory and Practice

  • Community Health Nursing: Theory and Practice

Intakes: January, May, Sep Monthly Fee: - 1st Year 2,730 per month - 2nd and 3rd Year 3,450 per month
